INVISIBLE? SEE ME NOW?

In Particular

Nanoparticles are invisible to to the naked eye but can conglomerate into larger objects which can scatter sufficient light so they become visible to us. Continuing this idea, humans are a conglomeration of cells with nanoscale parts – our brain is in fact a self-organised, finely tuned, highly adaptable nanosystem.

Invention

“Sneakily, creepily, slowly they gathered, under the bed (all wooden and battered), and nobody noticed for days, even months, that this nizpit of Nezzletaps was growing all at once. As time stepped forward (not backwards this time), each Nezzletap gained a momentum in which growth did occur. Spurt after spurt, a leg then an ear, a foot and a mouth, a elbow and knee, and so it continued – this collation of many, this grouping of things, ten to a penny. And when numbers were ready, they started to call... “HEY LOOK! LOOK! LOOK AT US ALL! We are no longer small! We are giant, and massive and incredibly tall. Formed from next to nothing to something quite new, we're reflecting and deflecting and shining bright, we're shimmery and glimmery, we're loving the light! Come watch us, come gaze, come have some fun, we're coming on out now – visible life has begun.” With a crack and a thwack and a few ker-twacks too, the bed it did vanish and they came into view: a dazzling heap, the finest you've ever seen – a nizpit of Nezzletap pilitupicus – a most beautiful gleaming dream.”
